We recently completed the renovations on a flooded house we bought that took on 4.5 of water in Hurricane Harvey after the Addicks dam was released. We rented the home on a 3 year lease almost two full weeks before the rehab was even complete. You’ll find the before and after photos here.
The property required a complete electrical overhaul. It also had galvanized plumbing, so we took the opportunity to replace it with PEX while the house was down to the studs. The main living areas were updated to have wood look tile throughout, new carpets in the bedroom, and completely updated bathrooms with fully tiled shower surrounds.
We’ll begin the refinancing process next week to mortgage it conventionally and pay back our private lenders with interest. This home also fulfills one of my rental goals for 2018.
We have two more flooded homes in progress. Stay tuned for more before and afters.
